Girl talk

A little mid month inspiration for the Penny Black and More August challenge. The theme is anything goes and use a main stamped image. Pop over to the blog to see more inspirational cards from the design team, rules and list of prizes.

I used a stamp called tete-e-tete which I picked up on ebay for a couple of pounds. A real bargain and it is such a great image to use for a teenage girl card.
I found the lovely pink and grey paper in my stash and decided to stick with those two main colours. I partly coloured my image with Promarkers and added a double bow to finish it off.

Wash day

The monthly challenge at Penny Black and More for August is Anything goes but also using a focal point stamped image.
I made a fun card using an old stamp called Uplifting Occasion. This stamped image always brings a smile to my face and I enjoyed doing minimal water colouring to co-ordinate with the background paper I used. A double flower, ribbon snippet and pearls was all it needed to finish it off.
Enter the challenge for you chance to win one of the lovely prizes from Penny Black, Sizzix, Crafty ribbons and Stix 2.  Pop over to the PB and More blog using the link above to see all the information for entering the challenge and lots of inspiration cards from the DT.

Black and White

I have not made a black and white card for a long time so here it is, quite simple with the lovely fun Penny Black image called Fluffy Passenger.
A mid month inspiration card for the Penny Black and More challenge blog.    The challenge is Anything goes with a stamped image. There are several prizes to be won sponsored by Penny Black, Crafty Ribbons and Sizzix. The old saying is " You have to be in it to win  it" so why not enter your card into our challenge and you may be lucky.

PB Blue flowers

The weather has been pretty wet for June and as we are into the start of July lets keep our fingers crossed we will get sunshine and warmth.

I have chosen blue for my DT card for the Penny Black and More  "Anything goes with a stamp" challenge this month. I have used a beautiful PB cling stamp called "Fresh".
The challenge is nice and easy and you don't need to use a PB stamp to enter. Just make sure you have a main stamped image and no digis on your work. There are some great prizes to be won from sponsors: Penny Black, Crafty Ribbons
and Sizzix. Pop over to the blog using the link above for all the details.

I have entered my card into the challenges listed below.

PB Floral

I made a quick DT card for mid month inspiration at Penny Black and More for the "Flower Power" challenge. If you have not tentered the challenge yet you still have plenty of time to do so. Pop over using the link above to check out all the rules, prizes and other inspiration projects by Brenda and the DT.

The PB image I used is called "Playful" and it is a perfect size to use on a "5x5" card. I water coloured the image and added a black border to give it a definate edge. The bow and swirled twine added to the corner helps to bring your eye to the image. A few colour matched pearls finished it off to my liking.

Pink Poppies

The start of a new month and that means another challenge at Penny Black and  More with the theme of Flower Power. A nice and easy challenge with some  lovely prizes up for grabs as usual. Pop over to the blog for all the details and rules of the challenge. The challenge runs for a whole month so you will have       plenty of time to make your project. If you need a little inspiration the design team have made a selection of fabulous cards for you to peruse.
I decided to use one of my new rubber stamps called Fresh. I love this stamp and watercoloured the image so I could work on the shadows. I can never achieve this look with any marker I have tried. A simple card that shows the beauty of the flowers I think.

Perfect Poppies

I used Poppy Trio by PB for my central image on this card as it is beautiful and very versatile. I think water colouring it gave it a lovely soft look which I struggle to do when using Promarkers. I inked the doily die cut edges and added foam pads to give it a bit of a lift from the background paper. I love the simplicity and the focus is on the lovely poppies. A sentiment and some thin ribbon finished it off and it turned out just as I wanted it.
Now over to the Penny Black and More challenge this month which is  Anything goes. There are some fantastic prizes up for grabs from sponsors Penny Black, Crafts U Love and Crafty Ribbons. There is also a chance to be a guest designer. Pop over to the blog for all the details and remember to read the simple rules carefully before entering the challenge. NO Digis allowed.

White Poppies

My goodness the months are rolling by so quickly. It seems to me we have just got past Christmas and we are fast approaching Summer.
This is my mid month inspiration card for the Penny Black and More " Birthday" challenge for the month of April. This is a nice easy challenge with lots of lovely prizes up for grabs. Pop over to the blog to see the inspiration cards from the lovely DT girls. Please check the rules carefully before you enter.
My card turned out completely different to what I was intending to make. I was very late in getting it made (again) so I quickly stamped my image called Poppy Trio. Even with minimal colouring I think it is beautiful. I added foam pads to the back, added ribbon and fixed it to my card. I die cut  two Butterflies, glued them together and added a few gems to the body before adding it to the card. More  gems were added to the centre of the Poppies and a sentiment was added to finish it off.

Sunflowers

I recently bought several new Penny Black floral stamps but due to being ill have not had a chance to play with them. These gorgeous Sunflowers were the first stamp I played with and it is so pretty. I did a water colour wash of blue, yellow and green letting a bit of water run into the colours. I stamped, water coloured and cut out my image. I added foam tabs to give a bit of dimension and a few mini crystals. I mounted it onto blue card and a piece of designer paper before adding it to my card. I wish I had either inked the edges of the designer paper or added another mat but it will make a nice birthday card or thank card for someone who enjoys flowers.

Many people ask me how I manage to cut out my images with such precision and these are the scissors I use. My first pair lasted me over 10 years and I only had to buy a new pair because my old ones got sucked into the hoover and it put a slit in the finger grip. My first pair cost me £10 and my newest pair cost £11 which I managed to track down on Amazon. It was easier posting the photo than trying to describe the details.

The Penny Black and More challenge this month is Birthdays. There are some fabulous prizes to be won from sponsors Penny Black, Crafty Ribbons, Be Creative and Stix 2. There is also a chance to be a guest designer on a future challenge. You do not have to be an advanced crafter to enter, all entries are welcome. Just remember work with main digi images is not accepted. The design team have made some fantastic cards/projects for your inspiration so pop over to get all the details about entering the challenge and see their beautiful work.

I have entered my card into the challenges listed below.

Playtime

It's mid month challenge time at Penny Black and More and that means it's time for an inspirational card. The challenge theme is "Feature a Creature" and the team have made some fantastic inspirational pieces of work to share with you. There is still plenty of time to enter the challenge and there are several prizes to be won. Pop over to the blog for the rules and details using the link above.

I must admit I kind of threw this card together as I have not been well for a while.  I basically grabbed what I could find on my desk and managed to get my card together by the skin of my teeth for this post.
I have used lots of snippets which I pulled from a box of left over bits I keep and hardly ever use. The die cut had a bent corner so I hid that under the flowers. The gro grain ribbon was tiny but I managed to cut into two pieces hiding the join under the image. I was feeling a bit low and not concentrating and the glue came through the first layer of lace. I fudged over that by adding another scrap of net on top. A skinny piece of cream lace had the life stretched out of it so it just about stretched the width of the card and I tiny scrap of a flower was added to a crumpled corner on my image.
I realized afterwards It would have probably been quicker to start a fresh card but by this time I was loosing the will to live and it just had to do.

I have entered my card into the challenges listed below.
