A late Christmas card and gift

I enjoy making Christmas cards in non traditional colours so I used some goodies from Craftwork cards to make not only a card, but a quick gift too. I found some lovely Bluey Green card and used a layer under my designer paper and sentiment.

This is a shot of the corner of my card. I love using the flat coils that you curl around a pencil to make gorgeous flowers. For this one I stacked 2 different shaped flowers, some Candi and added a coiled flower in the centre. It gives depth and makes it tactile. I added a metal pearl brad to the centre to finish off.

I had an embossed square I wanted to use but it was a different shade of white to my card but I managed to find a Promarker exactly the colour I wanted. I  just inked the whole square in this gorgeous Bluey Green colour. I used the same Promarker to edge one of my mats around the Christmas tree to link the colours together.

I finished it off by adding some Candi to my sentiment before placing it on the base of my card.

I decided to make a little gift with some of the leftover papers. I found a great tutorial on You tube to make this little tea candle holder box by Pootles. This lady is amazing she makes fabulous boxes, bags and gifts with full instructions on her blog too.

After making the box I added tiny strips of leftover papers to the outside edges of the candles to cover the metal. I punched circles of wax paper and stamped butterflies on the centres. I punched a small hole in the centre with my Cropodile and slipped them over the wicks. I gently heated them until the wax melted the papers to the candles.

I decorated the top of the box with some ribbon, pretty pink iridescent fuzzy twine, a small paper flower and a pretty sentiment. All ready to be wrapped for a friend.
